Kannazuki no Miko = Robots + Lesbians

Translation note: "Kannaduki no Miko" is NOT the title of this show.

Giant robots are stupid. I have no clue why otakus are so fascinated by them, but since everyone keeps telling me how great they are, I decided to give them another chance. Just to be on the safe side, I watched Kannazuki no Miko. That way if the robots sucked, at least the lesbians could steal the show. Why am I always right...

The Good:

4. The badass gang of enemies:

Evil nun (although she's so hot that I refuse to believe it. Why do the Japanese do this?)

Evil slutty cat-girl nurse (always a classy touch)

6. The last few episodes are amazing.

The Bad:

1. The show was only 12 episodes long. This led to a few problems:

The first half of the series could've used some help from Transition and Cohesion.
Not enough lighthearted lesbian comical victimization filler.
There were a few minor characters who couldn't spare the time to get their shit ruined by Chikane.

2. The gang of bad guys was supposed to epitomize the hatred, suffering, and vengeance of those who were unfairly victimized by the harsh realities of life. Unfortunately, the conceptually badass team was wasted by underdevelopment, just like the pimp from REC.

3. Giant robots suck. Let me rephrase that. Giant robots that are shaped like humans suck. What's the point? They can't possibly be aerodynamic. Who do you think would win between a B-52 bomber and a mecha? Obviously the bomber. It'd just bomb the shit out of the mecha and fly away.

4. Nobody knows how to spell the title. It clearly sounds like "Kannazuki no Miko", but some people romanize it to either "Kannaduki no Miko", "Kannadzuki no Miko", or "Kannatsuki no Miko". It's hard to find clever ways to work them all into your website so that you get hits for all four.

Despite the shortness and the robots, it's still a very good series. Check it out, or you hate lesbians.
