Sensei no Ojikan/Doki Doki School Hours is definitely the laziest anime I've ever seen. I know I just said that about Aria the Natural, but that's in the second definition of the word.
lazy [ley-zee]
adjective
1. averse or disinclined to work, activity, or exertion; indolent.
2. causing idleness or indolence: a hot, lazy afternoon.
3. slow-moving; sluggish: a lazy stream.
4. (of a livestock brand) placed on its side instead of upright.
Aria the Natural causes idleness or indolence, much like a hot, lazy afternoon. Doki Doki School Hours doesn't induce laziness; it embodies the very essence of laziness. It's averse to work, activity, and exertion. Have you ever seen a show so lazy that recycles scenes in its intro sequence?
Then there's the one-dimensional cast of characters. I'd feel guilty calling them cliche, because that would be an insult to the comparably robust characterization of Suzuka. Each Doki Doki School Hours character is a simply a stereotype.
It's not just the creator who's lazy. The viewers are also expected to be lazy, too lazy to remember the characters' names. After all, Japanese names are so damned confusing. That's why character names need to be displayed in English during the intro.
I'm too lazy to take new screenshots.
Fortunately, I happen to be a lazy guy, so I'm not complaining about any of this.

Before you start calling this a cheap Azumanga Daioh ripoff, keep in mind that the Sensei no Ojikan/Doki Doki School Hours manga actually came first. If for no other reason, that should be enough for you to forgive its relative simplicity. Besides, for better or worse, these days its refreshing to see a show that doesn't let style overshadow the basics. I enjoyed Doki Doki School Hours, and so can you. Just don't think too hard.
