Braver than I am. I saw the first episode and I thought “I… I can’t. I just can’t.” Something broke when I saw yet another incest premise. I’m starting to believe that there are more shows that have incest as a theme somewhere than there are without. Brothers and sisters CAN have a healthy friendly relationship without it going into the taboo. It is a thing. I swear I’m not crazy for thinking this. Aside from that, the characters weren’t nearly interesting enough. Tonari no Seki-kun was far more entertaining even though it was seven minutes from beginning to end.
Tonari no Seki-kun is like the only show I ever saw that has the most simple premise possible, does pretty much the same thing every week and still manages to be the probably most entertaining show of the season, and all that in 7 minute episodes.
I also love that classy, jazzy outro. I watch it every time. “The Master of Killing Time”? Well, from what I gathered the title meant “My Neighbor (person who sits next to me) Seki-kun”, or something to that effect. But, that Crunchyroll pretty much sums up the essence of the show.
In addition to self-casting doom, I also cast bravery and faith on myself. It’s the only way I can make it through some shows.
Nobody told me that the subtitle for Tonari no Seki-kun is “The Master of Killing Time” (at least that’s what it is on Crunchyroll). Suddenly I’m very interested.
I was actually going to watch Miyuki at some point because Cross Game was pretty damn good even thought I still have no idea how Baseball works and didn’t care for a single sports anime before or since, So are you saying its not wort watching? I thought I could trust Adachi, everyone seems to like Touch…
Miyuki subs are pretty slow, so I haven’t gotten too far into it yet. So far it’s not nearly as engaging as Touch and Cross Game, and everyone’s a pedophile. It does have some of Adachi’s trademark cleverness, but everyone’s a pedophile. I think by the end of the series, Miyuki’s going to turn 18 and so the main dude is going to be the only one still interested in her. More on this story as it develops.
Welcome to the new era of video reviews, have noticed everyone has switched their blogs to vlogs (even maddox) so it’s time to catch that wave baka! Good luck!
