“Given the exponential growth of the anime blogosphere, the number of quality blogs with insightful opinions and perspectives are ever increasing. Yet a majority of the blogs out there remain isolated, lacking a sense of community and meaningful interaction. The Anime Blog Awards was created in order to bridge that gap by recognising worthy bloggers and their achievements in various fields.”
Truer words have never been spoken. I’ve always been insightful and lacking meaningful interaction, but have I really been isolated? There was only one way to find out the objective truth: by checking my Google page rank. Warning: If you suffer from heart palpitations, you might not want to read any further.
ZERO. Holy shit, I suck! This website is a remote island where the dinosaurs still roam, like Isla Nublar. How did the good folks at the anime blog awards even find me?
Anyway, the first part of this awards process involves anime bloggers nominating other anime bloggers. Unfortunately, I can’t vote for myself (yes, I’m sure, I double-checked). However, I’d like to submit some nominations for other deserving anime blogs.
So, what anime blogs do YOU read?
I won’t be offended if you’ve been reading other blogs. Really.
You are my first and probably only anime blog Iยดll ever read.

I’ve been reading parts of Hot Step Jump! which I belive I read because you mentioned it.
I read this one every day, Hop Step Jump once a week or so/whenever i feel like checking, and japanator on occasion. If i need, say, super in-depth info on the upcoming season, I just google ‘spring 2008 anime preview blog’ and go to the first one. It’s not super in depth that I usually want though, I want to be entertained by witty comments about thing with which I am familiar ๐

Comprise my three sources for anime reviews and information alongside baka-raptor.
Seconds on THAT, I like their style. I randomly, heh, check out Random Curiosity, although I don’t really think that qualifies as an anime blog as much as an anime summary and discussion site (each post is roughly 30% pics, 60% summary and 10% review)…
Anime? What’s anime?
Try not to waste your all sarcasm before April Fool’s Day.
This is the only anime blog I actually read. You update pretty regularly so I don’t start to get bored, your articles are great to read and you speak many truths in them, and your site layout is great for my shitty 56k internet connection.
I sometimes stray into other anime blogs, but ONLY when you link to them, and when I find the matter interesting enough to continue. Your blog is the only one I read regularly and check for updates etcetera.
Is there any way I (we) can support your blog, i.e. register at that site and vote for baka-raptor.com?
It’s up to you guys to vote me for once I get a nomination. Getting the nomination in the first place is my job. I’ve still got about 4 weeks before the nomination process is over, so you guys can just sit back for now.
This is what I get for doing little/nothing to advertise myself over the past two years…
Well… I have to admit that this site’s layout and design are extremely adequate to the name “raptor”. I mean, in terms of IT, it’s a dinosaur. Gao.
However, I see an excellent solution.
First, find a really stupid, but decent-looking girl.
Second, find a code monkey that’s studying IT at a technical university where the occasional girls look more like men.
Then offer him the girl for making a new l33t design in exchange.
Coaxen, I think I agree. Personally, I see nothing wrong with the layout (even the old layout netted Maddox and his Best Site In The Universe millions of views), but most anime freaks are too concerned with looks (bad influense from the large-eyed ideal-figured anime women/girls/lolis). They will open this website, see it’s unattractive (way too manly) design, and leave. But I’d hate to see Baka-Raptor go all rose and sappy on his webpage, personaly.
Well let’s see… who do I read?
I read The Animanachronism, Mega Megane Moe, The End of the World and Batezi pretty regularly. I read anime|otaku whenever he updates and I’m probably going to read this site more often now that you finally got a feed. Cause I’m lazy and I don’t like having to check to see if sites have been updated ๐
I read Anime Academy and Anime Almanac a little less frequently. And I read That’s not Kanon when I need a good relief from the workday ๐
Anyways, I have to say I’m glad you’ve got comments now ๐
[…] Who do you think you’re trying to impress by going lowercase? Subtlety blows. I attribute all my success to large fonts, bold colors, and full-size pictures. They’ve made this site so popular that Google’s server crashed and assigned me a page rank of zero. […]
[…] I’d just ignore the genderbending crowd. However, with my page rank in the low single digits (specifically zero), selling out to the latest fad doesn’t seem like such a bad idea. Presenting […]
Hm, I read all on my blogroll, plus a few others. I’ll have to agree with what some users are saying about your ‘Maddox-ish’ layout. I for one, don’t really like hitting the ‘alt <-‘ after I read an entry. =p
And wow, two years and PR 0. Do you go spam up other blogs’ comment boxes much? That might be a good way of spreading your influence.
Lastly, which Page Rank site did you use?
[…] just like relentless episodic writing is to anime blogging. Inspired by Baka-Raptor's consistent complaints, as well as more recently Yin Master and Sojourner's posts, I decided to go ahead […]
ROFL, -1/10?! Man… that hurts ๐
I don’t know if you are gonna ever read this, but if you do, here’s a little bit of advice: No wonder you had -1/10; you had 0 backlinks! Go out there and comment in other blogs including your website, ask other bloggers for link-swapping/blogrolling, promote your site using social bookmarking sites, even write some articles about anime and post them in ezinearticles.com and other directories. In short: I don’t think you are unfamiliar to what SEO is… but if so, research a bit, and get to work! ๐
